Review on Think Fun Coaster Challenge Building by Jon Estell

Great game for future engineers or architects

We bought this game for our 5 year old son although the recommended age is 6+. After opening it for Christmas, he was eager to play with it. He and I sat down and looked over the instructions, how everything worked and what each symbol on the sample cards meant. Gradually he began to understand the symbolism and really wanted to start. The maps included in the game show how to START setting each slide, but not how to finish it. This is where the child's logic should kick in. Each puzzle card gives you the exact number of pieces needed to complete each coaster design, and it's up to the "designer" to figure out where the remaining pieces go to complete the design. roller coaster and make it work. Maps start out simple and progress to very complex ones. With practice and a little help from me, my 5 year old started putting jigsaw puzzles together. Now it's getting to more advanced/complex stand designs even without much help from anyone. All in all, this is a great game to teach kids to think in three dimensions. The goal is to take a 2D "plan" and create a 3D working model. The reward is the opportunity to take a small car on a roller coaster and send it along the track to the finish line. I would definitely recommend this game to kids who are interested in architecture and/or engineering or who love building with their hands. An absolutely wonderful toy!
