My personal gatekeeper

Works great. We call it Gatekeeper. We have a small shop with a gate about 200 feet from our large metal building. The alarm block is very basic and crude, but hey, it works. not well protected, basically just sits between two circuit boards, one circuit board is a motion detector and the other is a transmitter with little buttons to change the channel. It was difficult to change the default channel with small knobs. The handheld radio comes with rechargeable batteries and an AC adapter that powers the radio and charges the battery without having to remove it. So far this has worked great. The alarm box was watered down and is still working, so its waterproofing should work. The radio's batteries were dead when they arrived, but after being charged they were fine. The radio's batteries last for several days if cars drive through the gate regularly, and it turns itself off. 4 different zones can be defined on the gatekeeper cabin. You can change the zone by turning one of the small knobs inside the box. I wish he had the ability to do more zones as we have 6 gates on our property. So if I buy 6 of these the zones will overlap. I think I read somewhere in the manual that the transmitter battery lasts a year. We've had it for about a month so far and it's still happening so we'll see.
