Review on Ultrasonic Dog Deterrent - Dog Dazer II by Marcus Hargrave

I read some reviews here before purchasing this item. As with other reviews, I found it to have limited effects on small dogs. I have two miniature poodles and one morning they flew out the door making all sorts of noises. Although not at all why I bought it - thought it would be a good opportunity for a gentle test. I quickly/briefly touched the button but they didn't respond suggesting they heard it at all. Since I can't hear either - I wanted to ask if the device works at all. A few days later, I stumbled upon the same large wild dog while cycling, which prompted me to purchase this product in the first place. I push the button and he seems to hear it - and quickly walks off in the other direction. Although to be honest I still lacked confidence in how effective it really is. Last weekend I had this device with me while walking (I work abroad). A flock of wild baboons swooped down on us like a wave. Actually it was quite confusing. They approached quickly and began to bypass us on both sides. I had a stick and could hold one of them at the same time just by pointing a stick at them. But since there were 35-40 of them, it obviously won't work. Of course, not knowing if this device would work on baboons, I pulled it out and pressed the button. I can now say with absolute certainty that this device performs superbly. With the button pressed, I waved to the advancing baboons in the front line, and they not only stopped them, but pushed them away. They didn't pretend it hurt them, but like other reviews said, it definitely wasn't the kind of noise they liked or understood. which gave them a moment to pause and make them return. They didn't want to harm us, they just wanted to get something to eat. The problem is that they all wanted it and were determined to make it happen - and it happened immediately. This could have been madness and disaster for all of us in a hurry. With this device, I was able to keep them at bay long enough for the rest of our party to dig up some food for them and distribute without incident. That put an end to everyone's nervousness. This "Dazzer" is great. This most likely prevented serious problems and certainly saved me from having to take more drastic measures to protect ourselves. I am very grateful for both. and all participants had a pleasant experience as a result.
