Seriously I would buy 50 if I needed it but as they are so easy to install we only need two and they can be placed in around 6 different places around the house! very wide, very easy to open, easy enough to step over (and I'm 7 months pregnant). It's really nice to have little pieces of metal that stick to the wall because we can make my daughter's play area smaller or bigger depending on where I work in the house. We have hooks in the kitchen, in our kitchen corner, in the back of our (long) kitchen by the fridge where the dog sleeps and we can add more when baby #2 comes here. We've had no issues with durability and my child loves to rattle the tiny bars when he gets grumpy. They're made from untreated wood and will get dirty from dirty hands, so you can give them a safe coating to make them last longer. I was too lazy. My only concern is that someone who has a ladder might not want to put it at the top of the ladder. I'm just guessing, but given the way they're designed, they wiggle a bit (because of the three seconds) and I'd like something different (although I didn't think it would be. I'm just suddenly glad we not have a two-storey house). 5/5 for only 1 floor! :D
