When my Philips clock radio finally broke after 19 years of faithful service, I had no idea it would be so difficult to find a replacement. I've bought and returned a few - one for a weirdly weak alarm clock, one with no five-day notice. My guess is that as more people rely on phone alarms, companies will not invest as much in clock radios. But I get up early on a weekday, so I need a reliable alarm clock. What works well: 5-7-2 day alarm clock dual alarm clock with alarm volume control and different alarm times for each. Radio presets work. Daylight Saving Time will work fine I think since you set the date, including the year, when you set the clock. Not so good: Poor selection of alarm ringtones - there are a few phone ringtones, but why not a beeper? Annoying reading due to the fabric covering of the display. so so. The watch is smaller than I expected, I had to look at the measurements. The minimum brightness is still too bright (and the shutdown is off). The network adapter forced me to get an extension cord because I was running out of available outlets. YOU MAY NOT DISABLE ALARMS. That said, on holidays or weekends, I don't see an option to turn off the alarm the night before. I think I could switch them to the weekend schedule and switch them back to the weekend, but why not just turn them off? I recommend.
