Unique and Useful - Cargo Handling

Pros: Lockable Storage Easy Access Unique Universal Fit Tool-less Installation Heavy Duty Durable Water Resistant Cons: No Lock Hinges Mounting Option Available Gearbox Racket Toolbox x2 xx Racket Gearing Toolbox Straps 1 x Loop Strap Length 1 x Owner's Manual This OFF ROAD IN MIND Off-Road Recovery Gear Toolbox measures approximately 24 x 24 x 7 inches and weighs approximately 15.38 lbs. This product is like nothing I have seen before. It's not something I want to install permanently. However, it seems like a handy place to stash my off-road gear when I'm out and about. I'm off road almost 3 out of 4 weekends and the storage is always top notch. As a Jeep owner for the full functionality of the rear seats. You can't tuck anything underneath if you want to stack them when you need cubic space. This can be a problem when one of the only available spaces in a jeep is under the seats. So this storage solution gives you access to your off-road gear without taking up Wrangler interior space. When installed, it does not protrude too far from the spare wheel. Installation. Installing this toolkit is as easy as it gets. Fastened with a pair of straps. Done.Capacity. This toolbox holds about 1850 cubic inches, which is just over 8 gallons. So I can take most of what I take with me on the go. Draft. Items you can put in the tool chest can be secured with straps to keep them from moving. It also locks so you can protect the content. The case is difficult and withstands many penalties. It's a relatively low profile, only sticking out about 7 inches from the tire. There are a few things I don't care about about this product. The whole unit is well designed. The hinge is the weakest part of the product. It looks decent, but I could see it wearing down as it moved from side to side and opened at an angle. Another problem for those who want to install it more permanently is that in certain configurations this product is easy to steal. If like me you have a fold down tire holder, the racquet straps are easy to cut and you can just take them off and go. So I would recommend securing it with round head U-bolts so they can't be removed. I have yet to find a compatible set, but I'm sure it will happen eventually. My third brake light eye, which I installed in the spare wheel, is also not visible with the tool kit installed. I suppose if you want this fixed more permanently you can find a way to mount it on the toolbox lid. But for those with a configuration like mine, the braking system can be penalized for not having a visible third eye. But the chances of you getting stopped for it are slim. You can also explain why this is so and hope law enforcement will understand. Or you can just install it when you get to the trail. For a product at this price I would expect a locking mechanism to be included. Not sure what they cost here, but a complete device ready to hit the road is a must. I didn't have to buy a separate lock, especially since you can't secure the lid without it. IRL testing showed the toolbox worked well and didn't affect my terrain at all. It was quiet and didn't move... much. Although I didn't have to use it during my testing, it's a good product for peace of mind when you need it. I could not find any guarantees in the product information or in the product description. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I received this product in exchange for an honest review. Overall I found this to be a uniquely useful product. It suits a niche market that is always looking for new innovations for Jeeper. While I was trying to find a competitive product. I could not find anything that makes this item unique. So I can't compare prices to see if the asking price is real or high. All I can tell you is that I would buy it again...so I think it's worth the price for me. It solves a number of issues I, as a Jeeper, have to deal with more often than I should. This gives me back the storage space I lost by not filling the space under the rear seats. I hope this information was helpful. [5 Stars] This product is made in China.
