I am a temporary worker and put off buying a rotary head laser because I don't need it often enough to justify the significant expense. When I recently started building a house I had to solve some problems with quite rough slopes, so I chose this model as it was reasonably priced. Not high end but good value for money. It worked well - it's easy to set up, has fairly forgiving self-leveling (I've used other devices that need to be so close to level the self-leveling tag is almost wrong) and it's good enough. exactly for my needs. I leveled the trenches in the toe area, leveled the pour pins, and established the contours and slopes of the site. The only problem I can think of is that the detector doesn't have a built in spirit level so you're left wondering if your staff is on point or not. But for my use it was fine. If I had done more work that required a rotating level I would have chosen a more expensive device, but for occasional use this was fine.
