I could give that two stars, I could give that four. Two stars because after a day on the slopes, a quarter of each pad has gone paper thin from impact and pressure and hasn't "rebounded". I didn't pay what I paid for. . for pads to do this after a 7 hour session. (new here at 205lbs) I could give that four stars because I know they have really saved my knees from a lot of agony (I've spent a lot of time on my knees and also exposed them to the receiving end of a lot of high intensity punches). The size was good and I didn't feel like they slipped. They were carried over the thermals and held up well. I apply them once or twice in a 7 hour session and towards the end of the day (perhaps due to the significant thinning of certain areas of the padding). I would recommend them to beginner snowboarders for their comfort and they are really easy on your knees. I would recommend them to people who snowboard a lot and just want some extra cushion if you need to get on your knees. I would recommend them based on the fact that they don't restrict your movement in any way (like they don't even exist). They are placed in front of the knees as high shin guards and should not rest on the lower legs above the knees. Maybe people who wear them this way complain about slipping. But again, be aware that after a day of hard hitting and lots of kneeling, the padding will wear down very thin. Maybe I could think of a pair to use for a few more sessions. the padding became suspiciously thin, but my knees were still spared. and less and less I fell to my knees. but it still worries me that the pads are thin as they are and have no intention of decompressing.
