I love Fluke but like the name says. . Multiple quality control issues with a brand new standard device that arrived today. Date of manufacture: December 2018 = QA on vacation? (Problems are typical of products manufactured in the fourth quarter, so it's not surprising since production typically falls behind EOY dates or key employees are on vacation!) Fluke - How does a device fail with a missing safety rating? (Spelled 0A instead of 10A! Correct.) Fluke - How does a device with a lot of dust under the lens assembly fail? Fluke - Why does your website list the latest firmware as 1.16 when you ship devices with version 1.41, several iterations above the released version? Revain - How did it pass your outsourced calibration (Transcat)? Why didn't they catch it? This is unacceptable for the price and the usual quality expectations of the brand. It's coming back and we're going to spin QA's "Wheel of Fortune" and play "Lottery" again. Once my replacement arrives I'll update this review as I love Fluke products and want them well. EDIT: Unit 2 has arrived. The security marking is intact, however some of the dial markings have been erased. Dust on the screen again, but much less noticeable. Unacceptable, especially when advertised as "Made in the USA". This is clearly a bad move, or the concept of quality control has totally eluded management at Fortive, the company that now owns Fluke and may be cutting the cost of key elements like basic quality control!
