It's probably not a good idea, but yes, you can flip the arms so the monitor tilts up instead of down.

Product: Mount-it! Flat TV Wall Mount I chose a 40 inch UHD TV as my monitor. I didn't want the stand to take up space on my desk, but I still needed the monitor to be a little further away, so I started looking for a wall mount. Good ergonomics requires that the center of a monitor of this size be about 8-10 inches below my eye level and that the monitor is tilted up about 10-15 degrees. However, all wall mounts seem to be designed for seated TV viewing at eye level. Level or higher, no low seated computer monitor, they all lean the wrong way. It turned out that no modifications were necessary, although there are some risks and complications when you turn the bars upside down. This creates some bending moment on them, and they in turn concentrate some b finite forces on the plate. I don't think it's going to fail any time soon, but I'm concerned that over time the constant weight will bend the screws or plate until the TV falls (but that requires seat belts). The top of the bars is made of bent metal with notches that simply rest on the plate and hold it in place by gravity. Using this mount the way it was meant to be used is a dream come true, but flipping the bars changes that completely. You have to simultaneously support the weight of the TV, hold the notches at the bottom, adjust the angle and adjust the screws at the top AND do everything on both sides. In other words, you will almost certainly need a second pair of hands. But when it's done, it's done and I'm very happy with the result.
