When I moved into my house I had an Everpure filter connected to the fridge plumbing. So I kept using this filter until I realized there were cheaper generics that worked just as well. After years of using generics I've decided to go back to the original way of thinking, according to the description, that it would cost less in the long run due to the longevity of this filter. Boy was I wrong! Generics lasted 6 months. The H300, which was supposed to last a year, sold out in about 3 months. I wanted my money's worth so I didn't. After 4 months I calculated that it fills a quarter gallon in 2.5 minutes. This is 5 times longer (slower) than the manufacturer's specification. What a waste! Back to generics for me. I gave it an extra star because it filters the water. As an added bonus, I spent several hours trying to find out if there were other filters that would fit my Everpure filter element (Everpure QL3). There is almost no really helpful information on their site (I found more help on 3rd party sites). Then when I emailed the company (Everpure/Pentair) asking what other filters would work for me, they just sent me a link to a page with additional links and numbers. For reference, there are many other filters that match this head; It's all about what you want to filter out of your water. Also, for the record, I live in a nicer town in the US and our water and plumbing aren't a problem, so don't think I have a city water problem where the filter clogs easily.
