Unfortunately this model is not sold in DIY chains such as Lowe's, Menards etc. I have purchased this item twice from Revain. When I replaced the filter after 1 year. The filter wasn't as dirty as I thought. I don't know if that's good or bad? But the quality of the hair in the house seems to be better.

16x20x4. The resulting filter does not match the image in the ad. The filter I received has a black seal. This is an EXACT match for the original Honeywell filter on my system. Edit: February 2021: When I wrote this review, the product photo showed a red sealing filter. I see the image has now been updated.

The iterm came ok, we kept it in the shipping box until we needed to change the filter today. It's a little big, it doesn't fit in. We have used the Honeywell Media filter many times over the past 10 years with no problems and have never had this problem before. Something has changed. I am waiting to see if support will reply to our email as Revain's refund window has just passed.

I ordered 2 of these in different orders and both were damaged although the boxes containing them were undamaged. These filters are large but made from thin, single-ply cardboard that folds easily. It is imperative that these filters retain their shape to fit snugly within the filter housing, otherwise airflow will only bypass the sides. The boxes these items come in are better made than they are.

Let me answer the sizing question first. This filter is 4.4 inches thick. I use it to replace electrostatic elements in a Honeywell air filter and it fits perfectly: nice and comfortable. My oven doesn't "fight" with air being pulled through it - I think it would be a good alternative to electronics.

Definitely as advertised. They fit snugly into the media filter socket. The one I replaced was identical to this one and did a great job of removing dust, dirt and pollen from the airflow while keeping airborne allergens out of the house. While I'm not the biggest fan of media filters in general, they work much better than standard 1-inch filters and don't need to be changed often. They have a significantly larger surface area, which improves airflow and loading on your circulation fan, so…
