The part was a direct replacement for the original part except for the mounting configuration. The part worked before installation and did not work after installation with longer screws. I took my SXS to the dealer to check new and old parts, both were in poor condition. Currently being refurbished at dealer priced at over 400.00. So since I don't know when the new part failed, I ran out of the $85+ I spent on this part. And no, I have never mixed up the cables and always disconnected the battery during installation! Let me know if there's a remedy.
