The suction power is excellent. The rest of the bracket is garbage.

This mount is terrible. While the suction cup holding it to the dash isn't perfect, the foam "grip" holding the phone in the mount is useless. And it takes two hands to crimp the phone. The crimp does a poor job at best. The button that releases the phone is in a bad spot, well behind the phone, making the iPhone 8+ unwieldy when reaching the dashboard from the seat. I wouldn't recommend it even if it was free.
