Review on Stay Safe at Night with Elasta Cat Reflective Safety Stretch Collar by Jennifer Fox

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A SAFE HIGH QUALITY collar that won't fall off when Mr. Whiskers scratches!

Over the last few years I have changed countless (many dozens of) detachable collars for my 4 cats. Even the "high quality" ones have the same fundamental disadvantage: they can be easily removed with a few quick strokes if the cat scratches its neck. These "safe" (meaning elastic) collars are great: • They are made of high-quality woven nylon and have sufficient elasticity. • At night they reflect light (flashlight or car headlights). • The D-ring for attaching your pet's ID tag has no gap/seam (like cheaper collars) which means it cannot fall off. • Instead of "belt holes" simply insert a belt pin into the nylon. Fabric suitable for your cat everywhere. There is one downside, but it's easily overcome: • The clasp/buckle itself isn't very secure and will eventually *loosen*. But there is a simple solution: • Get the smallest/thinnest zip you can find and once you have the buckle in place, just snap the buckle/collar in place. (Then, simply trim the excess tie flush, making sure the 'protrusion' of the tie is away from the cat's neck/inside the collar.) UPDATE: As some other reviewers have pointed out, nylon is vulnerable. to fray/lint if your cat scratches it. One reviewer mentioned using a clear spray coating. I will try it and update my rating.
