Review on πŸ“ Accurate Centering Made Easy: Introducing the Starrett S579GZ Centering Telescoping Gauge by Sean Garrison

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good transducers but expensive

Starrett instruments are known for being excellent quality instruments and maintaining that quality comes at a price. I have several Starrett tools and I think they are worth the price. However, my first impression of these sensors was different and if you have the opportunity you can compare them with others available. However, the telescopic mechanism works well. No binding. Learn the proper technique if you're unfamiliar: Tighten slightly while the gauge is at a slight angle, turn the diameter once, remove, and measure with a microphone or calipers.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
