This seems like a good tester, but it has a serious flaw. It doesn't allow Ethernet traffic, so your devices won't fully boot. What's the use of checking a device's power consumption if you can't turn the device on fully? I want to see how much power is being used during boot up as well as during actual usage. Unfortunately, this is not possible with this measuring device. I have a tester from PoE Texas that works but has a scrollable display that only shows one attribute at a time. So if the device doesn't have a constant power draw, you may miss the peak. Power readings if the display is showing volts instead of amps at the time. The TRENDNet device allows you to block the display of a single item, e.g. B. Watts, which is great for monitoring power consumption during boot BUT we tested three different IP phones and two different access points and none of them were able to connect the testers properly to TRENDNet online. Everything worked with the Texas PoE tester connected. This is not an advertisement for PoE Texas, this device needs a better display but at least it works.
