Review on Ultimate Comfort on the Water: GCI Outdoor SitBacker Adjustable Canoe Seat with Back Support by Philip Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

BEST INVESTMENT IN CANOE!

Use this on a 9 day lake to lake canoe trip across Isle Royale and on every canoe trip thereafter. It's adjustable so you can sit back and elevate your legs when you're just drifting, or inclined to support you when you're digging deep in a battle to advance upstream/against high winds. This helped a lot with fishing. This gave you support when throwing or pulling the "big ones". The seat STAYS where you set it. The split seat design allows for plastic seats to be fitted or lay flat on custom plywood seats I made for a canoe that didn't have them. The pillow kept my butt from hurting and allowed me to fish for hours longer than some of my friends. The heavy straps and buckles that secure it to the seat (all the way around) can be adjusted to almost any seat I've seen and never come undone unless I wanted it to. This "closed" harness keeps the seat up and out of the way while being carried and covered hundreds of miles down the road in a canoe carrier. I even use the seat for whitewater canoeing. This gave me the assist I needed to lean back (steer), do a few quick oars, and only got in my way when we were forced to walk along an embankment with overhanging trees (which extends got caught up in it). A "MUST BUY" for anyone with a canoe!
