This kit was pretty cheap and worked great for a bearing change on my 2009 Specialized SX. All Baring press cups are well made and have a beautiful anodized finish. The box is nice but cheap so don't expect it to take a hit in the back of your truck. The grips simply bolt on, so a dab of blue Loctite on them is the best way to keep them from turning or loosening when you tighten them. My complaint about this kit is the threaded rod. It's small and I bent it a bit when I made the main thrust bearings. These are fairly massive bearings and require a decent amount of torque to install. The rod bent a few degrees and is now virtually unusable. It's plain steel and an odd thread pitch I can't figure out. Almost like an ACME branch or something. I can't really complain. I knew switching to this kit would reduce costs and I was taking a risk. If the solid threads were hardened steel or even standard threads this would be a great little kit for the hobbyist or mechanic working on light side jobs.
