(1) as others have pointed out, the product sold is different from the product description. (2) not 304 stainless steel. I have not gone so far as to test its "stainless" ability, which could permanently damage the product. but it's not 304 stainless steel. It's very magnetic, and 304 stainless steel shouldn't be that magnetic. If you use it for food purposes I can't tell you it's "food grade". (3) it's less than 1/4 inch - yes, I measured it with calipers, not just by eye. If you use 1/4" pipe for this, it will likely leak without any other means of tightening it down.
