I have several customers who were excited about home Wi-Fi and I came across this product and bought two packs for the customer. I was very happy with just two. I put one in router mode, one in mesh mode and boom, I traveled a long distance and the phone/router talked to each other and automatically connected to either 2.4 or 5 GHz and automatically switched one of the Router Selected With Best Signal I couldn't be happier! Then I decided what the heck let's get the mesh in Asus that I'm updating and use it. As soon as I connected to another router, the entire network crashed. I got a signal for a moment and then the wifi dropped and then came back and then died etc. I was like what the heck a 1 year old Asus mesh compatible router is just junk and messed up new things huh I just bought it so I unplugged it as I really didn't need it and the network was RELIABLE again. Perfect stuff! After going through this experience I called the client and told him we can take 4 of these nets and all will give him outside and inside coverage as well as around his 15,000 sq ft palace as I have already done, and work and they worked great. So I went, I set one up as a router, I plugged it into a node and got great speeds and coverage, and then I set up the third one just like before. the whole network is dead. Couldn't do anything, wi-fi disappeared and kept coming back. So I thought it might be defective. I took it off the knot, just tucked two in and immediately bam, I get up and roll again. I put another one on the net and of course on a DEAD net. I couldn't believe it. I went back and read the reviews and saw that they all had the exact same issue. Of course I updated the firmware to factory defaults and tried and tried for hours and couldn't get more than 2 devices working in 2 different houses with 6 different routers on the net. JOB. This is a bug, and it MAYBE that Asus will update one day and get it working, but for now, if you plan on EVER installing more than two routers, stay away. you have been warned
