Replacing a modern key/door lock/handle

I bought an apartment next door to mine to accommodate my mother who is now 94 and still single. The door locks and handles were from the 1980s and were not easy for them to use. This "encoded" recording is perfect. It was easy to install and easy to program. It's also a lot easier to use than fumbling with keys in the dark and trying to turn a small doorknob she can't grab. One tip: be sure to check the hole size of your latch/lock - I had an older hole (1 3/4 inch) - all new models use the new standard hole size of 2 1/8 inch - so you'll have to drill a larger hole if you have an old size latch - since my door was thick and covered in 80s steel I had to find someone with a good drill and mallet to drill a larger hole. Once it was done, installing it wasn't difficult. Please note that a matching door handle (to be ordered separately) will easily fit in the old hole. Bonus: It has a beautiful brushed nickel finish with a protective coating and looks great when paired with the matching Schlage handle. Levers are most needed by the elderly as they have mobility and dexterity issues. Highly recommended.
