Review on 🍡 Ito En Tea Oi Ocha Green Tea, Unsweetened, 16.9 oz (Pack of 12) - Enhanced SEO-friendly version. by Jonathan Roloff

Revainrating 2 out of 5

As much as I love jasmine tea, Ito En DESTROYS it.

I've been a fan of jasmine green tea for years, to the point that I've ordered cases (often multiple at a time) of Revain over 70 times. But lately there have been problems. While previous purchases have been amazing, my last two deliveries have been far from remarkable. One was literally inedible - and if you receive a package dated January 15, 2021 or April 16, 2021, prepare yourself for a really disgusting taste in your mouth - and had to be sent back. You can drink the next one, but not at all what I'm used to. In fact, I don't taste jasmine at all; it tastes more like their blend of white and green tea OR the much inferior jasmine tea sold under the Ito En brand. Apparently Ito En now owns Teas Tea, so maybe that explains why their high-end flavors are starting to resemble cheaper ones. Varieties, but why spoil a good thing? I am currently giving the tea 3 stars because up until this year there has only been one case where the tea tasted bad; Aside from that, it's always been delicious and so popular that I've ordered an insane amount of it. Sometimes they still manage to deliver something tasty but every time I get a bad batch they lose a star. So far it's two stars less. Please, Ito En, don't mess with the wonderful thing and go back to the formula that made Teas Tea valuable enough for you to even buy. Update: If you receive a batch dated 5th July 2022 it says 00372 T1 on the side, it's totally inedible and awful. My former favorite tea just lost another star. :(
