Review on πŸšͺ Magnetic Push Latches for Cabinets - Jiayi 2 Pack Recessed Cabinet Push Open Latch - Push Touch Latch for Drawers - Heavy Duty Push Release Latch - Push to Open Latch for Kitchen Closet Door Closure by Travis Garron

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Just installed the latches for the hidden trash can.

I bought these to fit a pull out wastebasket (with the cabinet door attached to the rails) in the cabinet. I wanted hands-free access to the trash can while cooking. I installed both on the same door (below). They're working great so far. When activated, they open the rails with a full trash can (23 gallons) and a cabinet door (let's just say 15-20 pounds), they eject the trash can about 10 inches. I'm surprised they have so much power and do exactly what I wanted them to. The installation was something wrong. Instructions (multiple pictures not telling you where to mount) are included in the bin. They are translated into English and poorly printed. The instructions say 1-7mm thickness but it is 1-7mm LENGTH of fine tuning to get it right. I don't think the strength is adjustable. It says it takes 1/16" to activate, but I think it's closer to 1/4". If I had one problem, it's that they require a little more space to activate than they said. If you're mounting on two hard surfaces (like a closet) you need to create a gap big enough to activate a switch that you wouldn't otherwise need. It also helped attaching it to the bottom so it wasn't as visible, but it no longer sits flush. EDIT: Added photos. The first photo is how close I got. I could probably fine tune them to bring them closer if I tried. Maybe I'll end up doing it. The second picture shows how far it opens on its own with the help of my foot underneath. In the third photo you can see where I installed them directly in the rails. Looking back, about fifty times I've used it, only one side was activated. When I tried to close it, the other side opened and they faced each other. I would place them closer to avoid this. It doesn't seem to require any additional noticeable pulling force to manually open the door at the top without a switch. Now I've just added a hands-free way to open (folding shelf, retractable 35L trash can). I would upgrade this from 4 to 4 1/2 stars.
