I'm not sure if these test strips actually show anything. I did a little test with three cups of water from a variety of sources: Cup 1: Pure tap water. Literally water straight from the tap. No added dechlorinator or conditioner. Glass 2: Water straight from the tank. I submerged the cup before changing the water. Reservoir installed and no problem as far as I know (but not sure what the actual settings are as I don't think these strips control anything) Cup 3: old water in the settling tank. Yes. I actually picked a few of my piles of fish to make sure there was something polluting the water. Let it rest and fester for a few days. After testing all three cups, all three tests returned identical results. So. Either my fish is excreting perfectly balanced poo that doesn't regurgitate ammonia, or it's fake.
