I bought this two piece set to replace a troublesome 3 position switch in a floor lamp I like . It was easy to unplug the power cord from the wall, remove the broken switch base, install a replacement, and reassemble the lamp. A very easy DIY project. Note that the strip/ribbed wire of the two-pin lamp cord is "neutral" or "reverse" and must be connected to the silver screw. The smooth wire is "hot" and needs to be connected with a brass screw. There is a video on YouTube for reference. I am happy with this item and now have a spare in case I need to replace another lamp switch.
