I bought the range although I was concerned that based on other reviews the spring pins would not work very well. For very low currents they might be fine and they're handy, but since they work by pressing the wire against the plastic casing, any heat will cause melting problems. A couple of them melted (one with smoke and fire) when the model train they were driving derailed. There were circuit breakers on the tracks, but they didn't work because there wasn't enough current and the wires didn't get hot enough to melt the insulation, except where the spring clip connected. Screw terminals with metal bodies to hold the wire are suitable for this application, but spring terminals should only be used in VERY low current applications. Then their convenience would likely outweigh their limitations.
