Essential HT II Bottom Bracket Servicing Tool

The Park Tool BBT-9 Hollowtech The II Bottom Bracket Tool is another well-made tool from Park Tool that will last you a lifetime, much longer than the standard Hollowtech II BB (laughs). Seriously, this is a well-made tool, and the rubberized handle feels comfortable and secure in your hand. BBT-9 is designed for removal and installation of outer bearing slides (BB). One end of the tool fits 16 cut bottom bracket cups and snap rings with an approximate diameter of 44mm (outer diameter). Some of these are Shimano Hollowtech II, SRAM, Race Face and many more. This BBT-9 end can be used on disc rotor snap rings with 16 external splines. On the other end of the BBT-9 is the plastic tool used for the Hollowtech II kit's crank adjuster cap. I found it very inconvenient to use. With this tool, it takes two hands to do the job that one hand can do. With two hands and a small work area, the cap becomes difficult to see. Maybe I need to turn the bike upside down so the handlebars are higher. In fact, I prefer to use a one-handed tool like the BBT-10.2. Overall, the BBT-9 is a solid, well-made instrument. This is essential for a home bike shop to keep your bottom bracket clean and tidy. If you are wondering if this will work on your BB, visit Park Tool's website. There you will find a list of BBs where it works. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found this helpful.

Pros
