Review on RockShox Reverb Standard Bleed Kit by Justin Herman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Correct kit for XLoc Sprint and Full Sprint

I bought this kit to bleed a double lock on my Cannondale. Before that I had never pumped anything, so I spent the money on branded parts. It worked fine. However, I think you can get by with all in one kits and any half price 2.5w shock oil. There's just nothing special about it. With a dropper or block, always add liquid, not drain it. (The system doesn't need to dissipate heat, so it doesn't matter if there's a slight buildup of water in the line.) Bleeding is simply adjusting the outlets and filling both syringes about one-third full. , and circulate the liquid back and forth between them until you no longer see any air bubbles. No branded syringes and fittings are required for this. I bought a universal Formula R1 brake bleed kit. (A separate kit was needed because Formula brakes use DOT fluid. DOT fluid doesn't like shock oil.) It was an annoying experience that I'll probably pay for at the store next time, but not because of the bleed kit; it worked well. I have no reason to believe that a traditional kit with much simpler reverb pumping would be any less successful.

Pros
  • Used to bleed all RockShox hydraulic remotes including Reverb and X-Loc
Cons
  • I'll write later
