Apparently you can't paint over colored shutters because the paint will peel off. So basically, you are forever associated with each color. I think that's a bad deal. So now I have to send Heritage Green back (which was nowhere near the pretty green finish we have at our house) instead of priming it for paint. which can always be removed and repainted. I'm quite annoyed that the seller doesn't mention this anywhere in the product description! So when you repaint your house, you have to throw away the paint and buy new shutters. Good scam if you ask me. Don't make the same mistake I did. Buy the ones that can be painted and give yourself the option of custom painting your shutters when updating the exterior of your home. By the way, DO NOT follow the manufacturer's instructions to install them unless you want to cheapen the look with exposed screw caps that scream vinyl. Instead, mount the frame in the home where you plan to install the shutters for a professional look that resembles real shutters. Not only can colored blinds not be painted, they also void the manufacturer's warranty! Omg this should be mentioned in BOLD CAPITALS to clearly warn buyers. But the seller refuses to add that disclaimer and flatly refuses to be open in any way towards Revain customers - essentially, the seller wants you to make a few consistent purchases later every time you want to change up the look of yours Hometown. This disgusting and egregious evidence of dishonesty and lack of transparency is NOT a business I trust and want to do business with in the future. this lock! If you'd rather change the exterior color of your home, DO NOT buy colored shutters, instead opt for primed shutters that can be painted. And note: prices went from $48.10 to $53.80. So it's pretty clear how this seller makes money with rising retail prices when you need to switch or buy new ones. This is an outrageous, deplorable sales strategy - don't be fooled like me!
