The gate looks a bit bulky when unpacked as it comes in several pieces, but it's actually pretty easy to install. None of the parts need to be screwed together, making assembly fairly easy. You get a large gate piece and a few extra gate pieces to make it longer. The instructions tell you which parts together make up the length. The metal frame feels nice and strong and looks very nice once assembled. The gate has a good latch with a simple latch lever at the bottom to prevent a child from opening it. The gate also includes removable floor brackets if you prefer the gate to stand on the ground. The only part that requires a tool is the side adjustment screws, a small tool is included, but a flat object can be used if you lose it. Overall the gate looks pretty good and works pretty well. It would be great if you could get extra extensions separately but I don't think they make them so you need to make sure the size is right for you.
