I bought this clipboard for writing my "morning pages," as advised by Julia Cameron in The Artist's Way. I actually write them in the evening before I go to bed, using a spiral-bound, 100 page notebook (Walmart Basics). I wanted a surface on which steady my notebook as I lie in bed, and then a way to keep it safe from our three cats. This clipboard fills the bill very well. It is sturdy enough to press on when writing, and is the perfect size for storing the notebook between writing sessions. I love the purple color too.
