Review on Clover Inch Embroidery Stitching Tool by Heather Shaw

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The advertised benefit is the worst part

I wanted a 7 inch cross stitch frame. I often use 6 but decided to try a little more. 8 inches was too big so I tried 7 inches but I didn't. That said, I ordered it, but I can already say I won't be using it. I couldn't find another 7-inch plastic with a ridge on the bottom of the tire, so I went with this one without really caring about the advertised benefit: a retainer that keeps your threads from tangling on the bolt tangled. I've never had a problem with it. But I have problems with this hoop: 1. I often fold the hoop and adjust the fabric, then quickly turn the screw to get the desired tension. If you do that too, you won't like it. The screw does not rotate quickly and the tire does not fold/assemble by itself (held by you manually). Rather, it only happens when the screw is turned.2. I think #1 is caused by the fact that the top hoop is not a single piece with two ends coming together. Rather, part of the circle of the hoop is in this element to prevent the thread from snagging. This creates another problem as I was hoping I could just break or remove this "feature" but when I do that part of the tire disappears as well. I don't usually hold the tire by the part where the screw is. But this number is difficult. I can tell right away if you don't hold it there, the hand gets tired quickly. I would send it back but as the flaw is in the design itself and not just in that particular tire I would have to pay for the return postage. . So don't give back $5. But save $12 and don't buy this tire at all. If you can't find another 7" that sounds good, take the 6" in traditional tuning, not this clumsy "improvement".
