The suction cup is very strong and has a sticky gel that helps it stick and maintain a strong seal. Note that after sticking it is difficult to remove. Handle it carefully and slowly when removing it from the windshield if you need to remove or move it. The neck is nice and long which allows me to mount the GPS on the far left windshield of my 2019 Mazda 3 with the GPS sitting directly over the driver's left air vent without blocking my field of view. The neck support pad keeps the GPS stable so it doesn't vibrate while driving. I wish there was a version with an even longer neck so I could mount the suction cup even lower on the windshield so it would less block my field of vision.
