It's made by slipping it about 1 inch under the rim of the aquarium and then tightening the top, practically pressing it against the wall of the aquarium. Problem: I cannot lift the fish tank and slide my leg under the tank while holding the fish tank with one hand and the stand with the other hand. I personally find it a terrible design, not only for that reason, but also because the tank is just resting on the leg, and to me it looks like disaster waiting in the wings. Maybe placing it under a stand would be better. Oh, the box says one hanger, but there are two, but you can just skip one of the hangers. I'm totally frustrated because I bought a double bulb and it won't stick and now I have to ship the stand back and damn I just hate dealing with returns and calling UPS to pick it up, double bulb and crap have to order new ones Clamp lamps, I don't trust them either. SHIT, WHY DON'T SOMEONE WHO REALLY OWN AQUARIUMS DESIGN A VALUABLE STAND?!
