DLNA is great for Netgear

I tried several different routers when I switched to AC. I use 2 as a bridge for my network. Netgear was the easiest. It just worked. I set up one router with my wired internet and another as a bridge. I also have a 3rd old Netgear as a bridge. Netgear's work as a bridge is simple and it just works. Other routers seem to be having IP issues or delaying setting up as a bridge. I tried 2 ASUS and although they had more customizable options than Netgear, DLNA was a disaster, slow to boot and scan. DLNA works great on Netgear. It appears on TV and devices almost immediately. The USB hard drive you can connect has a constant transfer rate of 40MB/s through my bridge. I also tried 2 TPLink routers which eventually dropped connection to all my devices but their DLNA was also excellent. Netgear is very stable. The only thing that confuses me is that the USB drive has a 4TB limit. I actually use a 6TB WD mycloud with X4. When I filled the drive to exactly 4TB, the drive would no longer allow writing to it. Files are created in 0 bytes. The simple fix was I unplugged WD and copied some files over the PC to break the 4TB free space limit, reconnected to the X4 and now it's working fine again and I can write more files to it . A very strange problem. However, I can now use the whole HD without any problems. I'm not sure I'll have another weird 2TB size limit. I hope they update the firmware to fix this issue. Support suggested just partitioning the drive, but I only wanted my movies to be on one partition. Another strange problem is that if an ampersand & is present in a file, the file shows up as unknown in DLNA. I think it's a DLNA problem and not a router problem as I've seen the same thing with my DLNA minix. If you get this make sure you get the 7500v2 with a newer chipset for MIMO support. Unfortunately I got the wrong version of Revain and had to buy it at Walmart for $150! I get a connection speed of 789Mbps. It's between the bedroom and the living room with a few walls in between. That's enough to stream at full speed from your hard drive. I've had it for over a month now and I love the router
