Review on Mechanix Wear MultiCam Original Camouflage by Brian Cheney

decent gloves; but order one size down and check seller

I was interested in these gloves after seeing mixed reviews. Everything from 'amazing' to 'broken down after one use' with photos to back up the claim. First, make sure you buy them from Revain or Mechanix. Look under the Buy Now button to see who is selling it. There seems to be a lot of fakes out there and I bet people get burned if they accidentally buy them from third party sellers. I did several durability tests. First I serviced the lawn mower. Spark plug and air filter changes, oil changes and blade sharpening. There's this nasty piece of metal over the spark plug that's already stuck in my finger. I deliberately didn't avoid wearing gloves and I don't see any damage to the faux leather on top. Then I mowed and moved pavers for a garden project. After working in the yard I tested them for the purpose I bought them for, as a pair of shooting gloves. I loaded and unloaded a few of my Wilson Combat 10 magazines circa 1911. The springs are stiff so I thought they would pass the test. That was the biggest problem; the sizing is just wrong. All my other gloves are large, I've worn large ones my entire adult life. But I saw complaints about it, so I ripped the tape measure and the chart told me to go taller, which didn't surprise me. But then they came, and these gloves are too big for me; Not so much that they're useless, but especially when shooting with gloves, where a tight fit is important, they're hard to sell. I will repeat what others have said, buy one size smaller than the chart if you intend to use it at the track. The roomy fit left my fingertips getting stuck trying to reload my magazines. Additional footage also gets stuck when trying to tamper with slide locks, fuses, and *especially* hammers. Again, I think it boils down to an incorrect size chart, and none of this would have happened if it stated the correct size. A few other things that caught my eye; they don't breathe well. The faux leather has no ventilation and the upper feels soft. My hands felt sticky inside after prolonged use. This is something I have not experienced to this extent with other similar gloves. On the plus side, they work impressively well with touchscreens. Even little fingers with excessive material on the tip are flawless. All in all a decent set of gloves. Because of what I did to them, there were only small beads left on the faux leather. Undoubtedly, these are good work gloves. I'm not so sure about shooting gloves. If you can save an extra $5 or $10, a pair of Helikon or 5.11 will serve you better. But if you're on a budget, scale down the size and they'll serve you well.
