Helps me sleep - oh yes!

I have been using tryptophan as a regular sleep supplement for over 10 years. Nothing works as well as tryptophan for me. The right dose is crucial. I started with 500mg, then increased to 1000mg and even 2000mg for a while. I now take the optimal dose of 1000mg before bed and it continues to help me sleep well at night. I recently added L-Theanine and Gaba - at a low dose - for stress. And this combination with tryptophan is AMAZING. It helps calm my racing mind/thoughts before bed. Sometimes I also take before dinner - depending on how busy my day was. This is a good idea, especially if you're having trouble falling asleep. There was a time when I woke up after 4 hours and couldn't go back to sleep, then I took another dose of Tryptophan, LTheanine, Gaba - and fell asleep after about 20 minutes and slept for another 3-4 hours. Other supplements that help me relieve stress and sleep are holy basil and valerian root. Again, the dose is important. I take them in different combinations and sometimes all together. This is coming from a person who slept 4-5 hours a night and is now sleeping 8 hours easily. great affordable price. Tryptophan isn't very palatable, so add it to orange juice before bed.
