Helped clean my media closet

I have a central media closet at home that keeps my video components as well as some networking gear. This setup allows me to keep the areas under my TVs free of equipment or cords, but it's no free lunch. The closet itself is a mess of cables. Some of my components in my media cabinet are branched into an HDMI matrix so I can use them on different TVs. In addition, there is a network switch, a modem and a router. All these small devices have huge power supplies, although their power consumption is quite small. This results in a tangle of wires flipped and twisted (kind of tangled, although they don't move) leading to a giant power strip with huge converter boxes hanging everywhere, blocking additional outlets. Since these adapters blocked the outlets, I needed a much larger extension cord than I actually needed. Luckily almost all the small devices in this closet are rated for 5V. I switched all my 5V devices to USB disconnect, trimming the cables and plugging them into this extender's USB hub. After shortening a few power cords, my media cabinet is manageable and clean. For the power supplies that couldn't be adjusted - the 9V router power supply and the 12V cord box - this mount provides two offset outlets for those power supplies. so it can be plugged in without disturbing neighboring outlets. While my media cabinet components have relatively low power consumption overall, it's good to know that this power strip is rated for 15A. It's the same circuit that my stuff is plugged into. The band performs well like any other, the fact that it has USB sockets and is rated 15A puts it in a higher category than most.
