It looks well built, the top is thin aluminum and the rest of the body is plastic. So if you want to know the entire body is NOT metal. The cable that came with it doesn't fit well (or at all) in my MacBook Pro, it pops out if you don't look closely. I've tried different USB-C cables but found that you need to use a Gen 2 cable otherwise the speed is very slow so now I've had to order a new cable for a brand new drive. 🙄 This replaces the 1 year old WD My Passport 2TB drive and the new one is much faster. My screenshots show the old hard drive first and then the new one. Thus, the writing speed is 118% faster and the reading speed is 132% faster. Overall I like the drive and have always had good luck with the durability of WD drives, I just wish the cable that came with it wasn't so bad.
