Do not put the caps on until you have checked that the screws are secure!
I like their sleek look but the screws are too short for my SUV. I assembled everything, snapped open the decorative caps, and then found that the screws, even though fully seated, didn't hold. Once the caps are on they don't come off so I had to use the original screws from my old plate and forgo the caps. However, the plate frame is still popular.
