I have a country home about 800 miles away with security cameras that connect to a local Wi-Fi network. And when the Wi-Fi or Internet connection goes down and a reboot is required, I'm out of luck. This great little device plugs into an outlet and then connects to your modem and/or wireless router. The device is easily configured using a smartphone or tablet. Once the device is set up and connected to your WiFi, it will periodically try to connect to Google as primary, CNN as secondary, or any other website of your choice using your local WiFi. If the device cannot access any of the websites, it assumes that your WiFi or Internet connection is down. The device removes power to the connected devices, delays it for the reset period, and then reapplies power to the devices. It then waits long enough for the connection to be restored. If the device rechecks and fails, it repeats the sequence until it establishes a good connection or gives up. And the best part is that you can receive an SMS on your mobile phone letting you know if and when the reset took place! Since installing the device, my remote WiFi/Internet has been working flawlessly. Please note that this device does NOT only detect failed WiFi connection like other devices. It also makes sure your internet connection is good. Great idea well implemented!
