OBD2 scanner review, a handy and inexpensive tool. 6-speed manual transmission with a power of 372-375 hp The car has its own built-in diagnostics and was used to compare with OBD2 for accuracy. The car has only 2 modifications, the first for the exhaust and the second for the cold intake. Her friend drove the car. (She made fun of him for driving, but then again it's her car, not his, so she knows how to use it on and off the track. She said I did better than she did me drove, but she didn't (I'm not saying too much.) My daughter did the diagnosis. Overall the OBD2 does everything it is supposed to do, the data displayed was accurate and the device was easy to use. This is definitely a good buy for those who want to read and reset trouble codes on their vehicles. It's worth buying for that alone. And the additional tools available are good for those of us keeping an eye on vehicle performance. Because the exhaust system has been modified, the "Check Engine" light will remain on after a trouble code is found. This has been tested and fixed several times, with reading the code indicating a small (nonexistent?) leak in the exhaust system. OBD2 read the code correctly and cleared the trouble code easily. The only problem was figuring out how to toggle options on OBD2, which the guide doesn't explain well. Just a small learning curve. It's worth having OBD2 available to clear this code weekly or bimonthly because once an exhaust leak fault triggers the check engine light, there are no new fault alerts to let you know there's a real problem without reading the code . This eliminates the need to stop at a parts store or garage just to read and clear the code. We will now use this handy tool for all our vehicles. The OBD2 horsepower calculation requires you to enter a vehicle weight which we do not know and enter an approximate value. It is possible that this is the reason that the power displayed does not match the on-board computer. Until I can enter the correct weight, I can't use the HP calculation. Other diagnostics were accurate when comparing OBD2 to on-board diagnostics. However, the car's onboard capabilities are much broader. OBD2 has 0-40 acceleration while onboard is 0-60. On board ยผ mile and 1/8 mile speed, torque, laps etc are included. The integrated on-board diagnostics covers more than OBD2. However, the price of the built-in diagnostics is also much higher. Again, the most convenient thing about the device for us is the ability to self-diagnose and reset trouble codes. But not everyone has onboard diagnostics on a car like this, so accurate performance checks will be available for these cars. This device will get the job done. Definitely worth the cost for a handy tool to add to our garage.
