Revain needs to keep a closer eye on its gauges and correct obviously inaccurate entries. it is not exact. The simplest test for stainless steel is whether it is magnetic. Stainless steel is not magnetic at all and in some cases (depending on the amount of nickel) it is weakly magnetic. This item is highly magnetic and the finish shows no marks or grit on either side (it makes no sense that the manufacturer polished the side next to the door to a perfect mirror finish). Therefore, this item is made of mild steel with a chrome finish. Neither is rust resistant and both are highly magnetic. The snowflake is also not made of stainless steel. It's a kind of cast metal. Traces of casting are visible on the back. It's non-magnetic so I'm guessing it's aluminum with a chrome finish. This item is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but it is NOT stainless steel.
