Review on Versatile Multiport Thunderbolt Converter for Projection: Perfect for Laptops and Cellphones by Keith Alvord

This is a fantastic USB-C adapter that perfectly suits my needs. I've wanted to be able to connect just one cable to my laptop (HP Specter x360) for a long time, and my desktop started working right away. The three things I plugged in every time were power, HDMI, and a USB dongle for keyboard and mouse. This adapter is perfect for that! The adapter itself measures about 2 x 2 inches and is made out of some kind of metal or some very strange plastic. It's getting cold, so I'm guessing it's metal. The USB-A port and HDMI ports are a little tight together, so be careful if you have cables that are too thick. This adapter works with any USB-C device that supports video output and power delivery at the same time. It works on both my phone (Go Samsung DEX!) and my laptop. As stated in the product description, this adapter supports 1080p at 60Hz (see attached image). Be careful though, the metal this adapter is made of can interfere with weak 2.4GHz wireless signals (like my keyboard adapter). ). Make sure you place it in a location where your device still has a clear connection to your dongle. The adapter supports USB 3.0 as advertised. I was able to transfer a 4GB file in just under 4 minutes (which is normal for my flash drive). I've seen many other reviews on this product saying it's cheap or doesn't work and I think I know why some people might have issues 1) Your phone or computer must support USB-C video output. I have a work laptop with a USB-C port, but it's only good for connecting other USB devices. You cannot route or connect power through the video output. 2) You must have a reliable HDMI cable. The first HDMI cable I tried with this product has some issues that require me to position it correctly in order for it to work with this adapter. I've tried a new cable and it works like a charm every time. No problem. All in all I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a cheap adapter to connect their essentials. It's also great if you want to connect your phone to your TV **Update: I just found out that the FTC requires reviewers to report if they received a free/discounted product in exchange for a positive review. This particular product is listed on a site where sellers ship items for free in exchange for a positive review. As such, most of these reviews, including my own, for this product are likely impacted by this. I don't have an ongoing relationship with this company so I don't mind saying that. Although I received this product for free, I still wholeheartedly recommend it.
