I was very nervous about packing this thing in my car, stuffing it with valuables and then driving 800 miles (round trip). There is a choice. 2 adults, 3 kids and 1 adorable baby = a bunch of crap and nowhere to put it. So I ignored the visions of our stuff being thrown across I-95 (or worse, stuck to someone's windshield) and ordered this bag. Installation was very easy. I'm 5ft 3" and 105lbs and installed it myself on my Pathfinder with no problems. ::cough:: Who needs a man?! ::cough:: Knowing it was going to rain, I took a reviewer's advice and zipped the back. I also wrapped everything in black trash bags, just in case (what? I have trust issues, okay?). Rain literally followed us from New York to Virginia. I think it stopped maybe 30 minutes of our 11 hour trip. When we arrived I was sure the bag couldn't leak, but when we finally opened the bag everything was dry! There aren't many positive surprises in adulthood, but this was definitely one of them! In addition to the advice to attach a rain cover, I also decided to put an anti-slip mat under the bag. Someone suggested that this would help reduce the likelihood of noise. I don't know if it was the anti-slip mat or just my excellent assembly skills, but we didn't hear anything the whole ride. If I could give this item more than 5 stars, I would!
