Clear coat does not release well

I've been using these for a year but in less than 6 months the clear coat over the carbon fiber was cracking horribly on both ends. Nothing ever touched back then but the wind and a powerful spray/foam cannon. They looked great at first, to be honest. Easy installation with double-sided tape. They also covered 160 mph and didn't fall.
