God after reading some of the reviews that said "NEEDS TO BE PROGRAMED BY A LOCKSMITH OR DEALER" I was a little apprehensive when I bought these key fobs for a 2009 Chevy Malibu bought . In my case, the programming couldn't be simpler. I'm an automotive technician with a bi-directional scanner so I was able to program them myself, free (for a friend) and it only took about 2 minutes and both new fobs work great. So NO, you absolutely do not need a locksmith or dealer to program them. Save yourself some $. If you can't do it yourself by Googling "key fob program procedures" for your vehicle, year, make and model, or if you'd rather have this very simple and painless task done professionally, consult a reputable mechanic/one repair shop . . I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper than the other two options. All you need is a (bi-directional) scan tool that connects to your vehicle's Body Control Module (BCM). Hope this helps someone out there.
