No programming required; exact replicas.

These key fobs are exactly the same as the originals for my 2011 Chevy Malibu. Plastic of the same quality, there is a rubber water seal. Both of my original key fobs began to deteriorate. At first I had to press the buttons harder and longer to get them to work until some of the buttons stopped working at all. Since some of the buttons still worked, I figured it wasn't the battery, but I tried new batteries anyway. Vain. So I bought these replacement keychains and tried to do what I read in…

No Locksmith or Dealer Required

God after reading some of the reviews that said "NEEDS TO BE PROGRAMED BY A LOCKSMITH OR DEALER" I was a little apprehensive when I bought these key fobs for a 2009 Chevy Malibu bought . In my case, the programming couldn't be simpler. I'm an automotive technician with a bi-directional scanner so I was able to program them myself, free (for a friend) and it only took about 2 minutes and both new fobs work great. Try this first before having a dealer/locksmith program it.

No programming required! I read a review here that said inserting the circuit board from your original key fob into the new one. Decided to give it a try as I had nothing to lose. Viola! I thought I was dreaming! With my original key fob, the only button *open door* worked and only if it wasn't too cold outside or I was near my car (even with a brand new battery).
