I love this can opener! Growing up we had an American made can opener that lasted from when I was a kid through college. From what I can remember, it worked just as well at the end of time as it did at the beginning. I have owned many can openers over the years. At first they always work well, but after a few months the teeth break and become unusable. This is because almost all can openers are now made in China from Chinese steel, which is a much softer, low-quality steel. I went on a hunt to find a quality can opener that would hold up as well as the one I had as a kid. I searched US companies, Swiss companies and several other opportunities. They were all made in China from Chinese steel and distributed by American or Swiss companies. I finally came across this can opener and was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was made by a German company from German steel. One of my passions is woodworking and I know that some of the highest quality woodworking tools in the world are made in Germany and I am very happy with every German tool I have. I ordered this can opener and was very pleased when it arrived. It runs very quietly and is fully German quality. It's a bit pricey coming from England but worth every penny. If you're looking for a quality can opener that I think will last, look no further!
